Businessweek Asks the Tough Questions: Which Business School Has the Hottest Chicks?

Latest

We expect certain websites to run listicles ranking hot coeds, sure. But Bloomberg Businessweek? Yep: the magazine’s website recently asked readers to vote on which business school had the most attractive female students, apropos of nothing other than a general appreciation for babes.

The piece (<3 you, Google cache) went up on Friday and stayed up until late Sunday night, when it was finally deleted without comment. Today, Businessweek gave The Daily Dot this statement, which refers to a mysterious “hot business dudes” poll which no one seemed to notice:

We regret issuing two online polls last week that asked our readers to comment on which business schools had the most attractive male and female students. The Face/Off polls have been taken down from businessweek.com. They were in poor taste and undermine the tremendous value our Business Schools vertical provides.

Ah, it only took a weekend (and a zillion angry tweets) for the magazine’s editors to conclude it was “in poor taste” to ask readers to rank business school students by hottness. But, as The Daily Dot points out, this is the third year running that the magazine has published a regurgitated “Hottest Guys and Girls” feature. According to last years, “Every year Bloomberg Businessweek partners with College Prowler, which surveys college students throughout the U.S. and uses those surveys to grade each school on everything from academics to nightlife to off-campus housing.”

Man, that makes it even worse. Why is Businessweek partnering with College Prowler, a website which is exactly what it sounds like? Maybe they should mix it up in 2013 and partner with the writer who thinks women go to business school to get their MRS degrees, instead!
