12-year-old Alice Svensson of Sweden was taking a shower during a thunderstorm last week when her parents heard her scream twice. At first they didn’t understand what was wrong with her, but they later found out that lightning had hit the house and traveled through the metal shower hose she was holding two times. Svensson had some pain in her arm, but the incident created no lasting problems — except for a lifelong aversion to bathing.
