On Friday, Janet Jackson whispered back into our hearts with the video for her newest song, “No Sleep.” Yaaasss queen!
In the clip shot in a spacious house with a comfy couch, fluffy blankets and stairs made for a quick dance break, Janet seems to be in full swing. There are even old photos of the icon as a child and with her family to remind fans just how long she’s been doing this entertainment jig. J.Cole, and his locs, appear mid-way through the clip and as he delivers his verse, one has to thank the R&B gods that Jackson didn’t get the usual 16 bars from the usual dude. Not to mention “No Sleep” is reminiscent of “Lonely” from Rhythm Nation, which was a great album cut.
