Jelly Roll’s Family Breaks Silence on His Divorce

“Nobody cheated on nobody,” the singer and his daughter proclaim, while his ex, Bunnie Xo, says they'll still having a baby.

That “amicable” divorce between Jelly Roll and ex-wife Bunnie Xo we keep hearing about may not be so amicable after all. On Sunday, Jelly Roll’s 18-year-old daughter Bailee Ann Deford took to TikTok Live to let fans know her dad is not the guilty party, and despite rumors of infidelity, cheating was actually not the reason the famous couple split. She also, not-so-respectfully, would like everyone to stop asking her about it.

“Don’t y’all ever come for my father’s name like that again,” She said. “Get the fuck out of my DMs, out of my comments, my life with that shit. I don’t want to talk about it.” Then, as most 18-year-olds who have declared they don’t want to talk about something do, she continued to talk about it. “Y’all have no fucking idea what happened, and wait ‘till y’all find out. Just fucking wait,” She teased. “Because I promise y’all, the view of what y’all have of not only the situation, but their relationship and the internet in totality is about to fucking crumble the day I open my mouth.”

This is not the first time Deford has hinted at her explosive inside knowledge. In a now-expired TikTok from last month, she lamented the internet’s obsession with the “private family matter,” warning viewers to “worry ‘bout your house – not mine,” then added ominously, “I’m not speaking on it — yet.” 

Deford is the daughter of Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) and ex Felicia Beckwith, who gave birth to Bailee Ann while the country singer was still incarcerated. Because of Beckwith’s struggles with substance abuse, Jelly Roll and his then-wife Bunnie Xo were granted primary custody of Bailee in 2016, and have been the primary caregivers in her life for the past ten years. So yeah…we can all forgive the teenager for having some feelings. 

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo finalized their divorce back in May after a decade of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. According to PEOPLE, the divorce settlement included a classic division of assets including homes, cars, “an aircraft,” and their intellectual properties. Jelly Roll will also make a “confidential lump sum payment to Bunnie,” but the settlement did not include alimony. 

Throughout the proceedings, the two have held the “nobody cheated, and we’re still friends” line, despite widespread rumors to the contrary. Back in June, Jelly Roll told fans at a show in Saratoga Springs, “Me and my wife are best friends, we will always be best friends. She will probably be the only woman I’ll ever love the way I loved her,” adding, “Nobody cheated on nobody.”

According to Bunnie, the pair are also still planning to move forward with having a child together, despite the divorce. “We have been the most unconventional couple you guys have ever encountered,” She said on her Dumb Blonde podcast. “We’re going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn’t what you guys think it is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally we just served our purpose for each other.”

Okay, okay, we get it. Nobody cheated. But considering Bunnie would later go on to say the split was “not mutual” for her, what did happen? I guess we’ll have to wait for a fed-up teenager to pop off on TikTok to find out.
