Kate Moss' First Shoot as an Editor for British Vogue Is Punk-Lite
LatestThe March 2014 issue of British Vogue includes the first shoot styled by new contributing fashion editor to the magazine and longtime cover girl Kate Moss. It features Daria Werbowy looking very Moss (at least inside the magazine).
The cover was photographed by Mario Testino, but the spread, called “Cause Célèbre,” was done by Moss collaborators Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who last shot Moss for her 60th anniversary Playboy cover. Vogue describes this new shoot as “a hazily beautiful world – with a healthy splash of the rock’n’roll cool that you would expect from the world’s most photographed supermodel.” From the image they’ve released online, this can be interpreted as punk-lite; does the mere presence of fishnets and dyed hair really indicate badassery anymore?
Moss was understandably praised by the publication that loves her so:
“From gathering the initial moodboard to talking me through the rail of clothes in the Vogue fashion room and adjusting the accessories on Daria Werbowy, Kate took on the complete role of fashion editor,” said Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman in her editor’s letter, adding that, “perhaps not every editor takes her model out partying on the first night of the shoot!”
Oh Kate, always the party monster. The magazine is on newsstands Friday.
