Kesha is scheduled to perform at the Billboard Music Awards in a couple weeks, in what’s being billed as a “statement performance” that will reference her current sexual abuse lawsuit against Dr. Luke.
TMZ reports:
Sources close to Kesha tell us the singer is gearing up for a marquee performance during the live May 22 show on ABC from Las Vegas. We’re told she’s planning to make direct references to her ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke … and might even include images of him.
After a span of staying relatively quiet about her lawsuit against Dr. Luke, allegations of which include sexual assault and harassment, Kesha only recently started performing in public and putting out new music. Next up, she’ll be touring with Diplo.
This performance at the Billboard Awards would follow up her appearance this past Saturday at the Humane Society Gala in L.A., where she sang Lady Gaga’s ballad for abuse victims, “Til It Happens to You,” originally written for the campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground.
