Kicking It Old School At Oscar De La Renta

Latest

The Oscar de la Renta Fall collection was old-fashioned, ladylike and unabashedly glamorous. I don’t know what life it was designed for, but I want to go to there…

Ya know what? I take it back: I know exactly what this collection reminds me of. Like in a romance novel by an older author – say, Judith McNaught – whose 20-something characters all inhabit some timeless luxe world somewhere between Dynasty and Talbot’s.

At times, these looked worthy of Oleg Cassini – or at least a woman who would have patronized him!

Dig Agyness as 70-something patron of the arts!

Mrs. Obama, may I draw your attention this way?

I mean, this is made for cross-aisle diplomacy.

This dainty frock is the definition of, well, dainty and frock.

I mean, a brooch, for gosh sakes! A motherhumpin’ brooch!

And when it comes to de la Renta, well, you know you are getting some stunning gowns.

No tricks, no gimmicks, just pure old-school glam.

And the cocktail dresses are retro-perfect.
