Here’s another brief moment in time from the archives of the Chicago Tribune.

The 1964 snap is from the annual debutante ball thrown by the Links, an African American women’s organization founded in 1946 (which still exists today). A little canvassing turns up this very short writeup from Jet, which reports the affair raised $4,000 for “charity, the NAACP and Urban League.”
