Madonna posted this censored picture of what she supposedly planned to wear to tonight’s Met Gala until it was nixed by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
If you’re like a certain unnamed blogger who couldn’t figure out why every damn news alert was about some celebrity wearing a crazy-ass fancy dress until you smacked yourself on the forehead and screamed “OH SHIT THE MET GALA IS TONIGHT,” you may not be aware that tonight is indeed one of the biggest most fashioniest nights of the year. This year, Madonna wanted to bust out some classic Fifth Element-style full frontal nudity, but apparently she was told “NOPE.”
Our very own Lindy West described the outfit as “sexual mummy.” Madonna posted the pic to her Instagram with the caption “What i wanted to wear to Met Ball but Anna said Not this year! So I’m gonna work on music instead? #artforfreedom.”
So I guess she decided to stay home. That’s cool. I didn’t go to the Met Gala either. I made chili and organized the cutlery drawer. It was a big night.
