Marchesa Kills Its New York Fashion Week Runway Show

Georgina Chapman’s fashion brand Marchesa will not present a show at New York Fashion Week as originally planned.

In place of a traditional runway show on Valentine’s Day, The New York Post reports, a “digital presentation” is expected. A fashion week source told the paper, “Georgina couldn’t go through with it. She was too scared,” adding, “They were gung-ho, but as they got closer, she choked.”

Besides her presence as a judge on Project Runway All Stars, which is currently airing, Chapman has been largely absent in public since she announced that she was leaving her husband Harvey Weinstein, citing “unforgivable actions” in reference to multiple sexual assault allegations.

Marchesa has reported solid sales despite the controversy. A brand rep told New York Post, “Marchesa is looking forward to presenting their Fall ’18 collection in an updated format this season.”
