Misty Copeland, the first black principal ballerina for the American Ballet Theater, is getting her own intersection in her hometown of San Pedro, California next month. Happy early holidays!
Misty Copeland Square will be located at 13th Street and Pacific Avenue, according to My News LA. On December 21, Copeland is slated to return to her old stomping grounds for a fundraiser/master class at her alma mater the San Pedro Ballet School as well as the intersection’s naming ceremony.
