Both of the covers of the new W have leaked. The snapshot of Christina Aguilera‘s cover that was leaked leaves a lot to be desired, so perhaps it isn’t a fair fight, but Beyoncé is clearly winning this one. Lynn Hirschberg’s profile of Aguilera — “The pop diva comes clean about her fall from grace, and how she’s singing her way back to the top” — sounds like it will make for interesting reading, however. But who are we kidding? We’ll totally flip to “Donatella on a dirt bike, Lagerfeld in the tub” first. [AfterLD, ONTD]

The guy responsible for Rihanna’s tour costumes explains himself: “I was thinking of a Fiorucci rave goddess. The bikini is an insane asylum…We fit it four times on Rihanna to make it fit in that incredible way that hugs her curves. Once the fittings were completed we gave it to Tom [Binns] to paint. When you see that thing in person it’s the most incredible fucking thing.” [The Cut]

And in a random news item from 2006 that seems to have shaken loose of the space-time continuum and inserted itself into the news cycle of today, Tobey Maguire is the new face of Prada‘s men’s line. [GQ]

Prada‘s IPO road show is meeting early success: Shares are already five times oversubscribed in Milan. The company hits New York and Boston later this week. Final share price will be determined Friday, and trading will begin on June 24. It sounds that the price will be at the higher end of the range offered, which could value the company at over $15 billion. [WWD]

The Italian apparel industry as a whole, according to the Italian Chamber of Fashion, expects its revenues to hit $93.2 billion in 2011. [WWD]

Devon Aoki and her fiancé, James Bailey, have welcomed their first child, a son. Bailey Tweeted throughout the labor, and after delivery snapped photos of the newborn and his mother, four generations of the family, and the couple’s doctors. The child, whom they haven’t yet named, was born on the anniversary of the couple’s engagement. Bailey Tweeted, “Not a bad anniversary present ‘Aw Derrick, he did his first look!’ #Zoolander.” [@Jameshbailey]

Jimmy Choo is launching a new “Icons” collection of fifteen reissued styles from its archive. (“Archive” meaning the fifteen years in which the company’s been in operation.) There’s a shoe from Sex and the City (“an early episode”) and a shoe Tamara Mellon wore to get her OBE and a shoe that celebrities “love.” These shoes will not be selling for their “archival” prices: they will retail for $850-$3,785. Ten per cent of the proceeds will go to charity. [WWD]

  • “I don’t think that fashion is institutionally racist in the slightest,” says Alexandra Shulman, the editor of British Vogue. “There have always been black players on the scene — at the moment look at the stylist Edward Enninful, make-up artist Pat McGrath and [models] Jourdan Dunn, Liya Kebede and Joan Smalls, who are at the top of the tree.” Shulman says there are “at least two black figures” who are “in the pipeline” to appear on her magazine’s cover.   • The third annual Full-Figured Fashion Week, which kicks off in New York June 16, is selling out.   • The union that represents over 4,000 Macy’s employees in New York state has voted to authorize a strike. Macy’s, which has earned extremely healthy profits over the past few quarters, is trying to take away pensions from new hires, increase the costs of the employee health care plan, and cut people’s hours. If a new contract isn’t negotiated by midnight on Wednesday, the union may strike. Macy’s already took out an ad in the Times seeking temporary staff — the technical term, we believe, for that is “scab labor.” [WWD]

  • Model Natalia Osikova on New York City: “My Russian friends who came here were divided into two: people who loved the city and people who hated it. People who were born in the Soviet Union, they still have this little feeling that the USA is bad and is the enemy for some reason. It’s like an embedded feeling in our society. I can’t really explain it. It’s just part of the Russian mentality. But I love it here.” Osikova, who modeled in Asia as a teenager, now studies philosophy in St. Petersburg.   • Alexander Wang is selling a collection of wallets and other really small leather goods exclusively on eBay starting Friday. They cost $235-$525. [Style.com]
  • Brian Atwood‘s diffusion line, which is operated under license by Jones Group, is expanding to include bags and jewelry for fall. [WWD]
  • Sergio Rossi is buying back the five stores it operates in China, which had previously been owned by a franchisee. [WWD]
