Watch Solange Perform Gorgeous Renditions of 'Rise' and 'Weary' on The Tonight Show

Entertainment

Solange hit The Tonight Show on Thursday to perform two tracks from her gloriously therapeutic album A Seat at the Table, “Rise” and “Weary.” Playing up the idea of shared pain and women serving as each other’s connective tissue, she and her backup singers appear bound together by fabric, a version of the symbolic dresses worn in her video for “Cranes in the Sky.”

After a peaceful snippet of “Rise,” they transition into “Weary,” Solange’s warming reflections on the power of mutual misery. Following a tight Saturday Night Live set in November (there, she wore a brilliant spider web of braids on her head), this is yet another clip that makes you continue to look forward to Solange performances.
