He purchased their information from a mailing company, and although he did not know the women, he proceeded to send them sexually explicit mail. The fans love it. Just look at the success of the four grand slams,” said WTA Tour Chief Executive Stacey Allaster. • In a statement issued as response to Scott Roeder‘s conviction Nancy Keenen, president of NARAL, called for “opponents of a woman’s right to choose to end the practice of inflammatory rhetoric and tactics that inspire this kind of violent action from the most extreme factions of the anti-choice movement. No other abortion provider’s family should have to endure the tragedy of seeing their loved one killed for providing an essential and legal health service to women.” Amen to that. • Sarah Palin is receiving $100,000 to speak at a Tea Party event, according to Politico. Palin says she is “honored” to be attending the event, and claims that the money will not go to her; “I wont personally gain from being there.” • 21 women’s groups have gotten together to pen a letter to Obama asking him not to cut funding for family planning. The letter states that the programs supported by taxpayer money are already “woefully underfunded” and that Title X has not kept pace with inflation. •
