Amber Rose Gets Her Chance to Host a Talk Show, Thanks to Dr. Phil

Amber Rose will soon be hosting a weekly talk show on Vh1 and—yes, you guessed it exactly—it’ll be produced by Dr. Phil’s company.

Pictured above: Amber with her friend Dr. Phil in January at a Daily Mail People’s Choice Awards after-party. What looks like a simple photo of Amber being gracious to an old man was actually a foreshadowing of this budding partnership.

The still untitled talk show premieres this summer via Dr. Phil (the only person in the world who understands every one of us) and his son Jay McGraw’s company Stage 29 Productions.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

The weekly series will feature Rose conducting candid interviews with celebrity friends and leading what is billed as provocative, entertaining and humorous conversations with guests on topics including pop culture, motherhood, relationships, friendships, race and entrepreneurship.

Rose has launched various projects in the past year, including an emoji app and a book, How to Be a Bad Bitch. And, while she surely has a personality fit for TV, talk shows are historically tough to sustain. In a statement, Rose expressed plans to “break all the rules and redefine late-night” with her show and perhaps avoid the fate that befell Kocktails with Khloé.
