But whose life hasn't she saved, really?

Celestial Being Amy Adams Saved A Man’s Life Who Was Stabbed in the Neck

Okay, imagine you get stabbed in the neck, and as you lie on the ground in agony, the heavenly voice of Amy Adams whispers the following in your ear: “The more you struggle, the faster you’re going to bleed.” Chilling. And apparently, this was a real human man’s experience, as told by Adams herself.

Turns out, Adams is something of an angel of providence, protecting us mortal beings and imparting divinity to our souls, not just through her acting but also through her emergency medicine prowess. On an episode of the Smartless podcast released Monday, Adams shared an anecdote about saving a man’s life who had been stabbed in the neck.

The tale goes that she was dining at her favorite Santa Monica haunt with her father, husband, and daughter when they noticed a man bleeding profusely. Before finding acting, Adams initially wanted to go into emergency medicine, and apparently, there have been “a couple of scenes” (crime scenes, I suppose?) where she has been the first to arrive. Thankfully, she appeared in five episodes of the 2004 medical drama Dr. Vegas, starring Rob Lowe, so she knew exactly what to do. Also, she’s Amy Adams, so what can’t she do (besides a Savannah accent)?

“These people were screaming, and they were yelling, ‘He’s dying!’ And my husband’s like, ‘That’s blood!’” she recalled, “We ran over, and he’d been stabbed in the neck.” Her father, Richard Adams, has also apparently been “first on the scene” in many instances, not as the criminal, but as a saving grace similar to Amy. The two rushed to the man’s side and used their beach towels to stop the bleeding.

“You need to calm your pulse rate, take a deep breath,” Adams told the man. “I was just so focused. I was like, the more you struggle, the faster you’re going to bleed. Just lie down. Let’s elevate this.”

She never found out why the man was stabbed, but a year later, a teary-eyed man would cross paths with her again on her celestial plane (or, like, a different LA restaurant) and share that he was the one saved by her and her father that day in Santa Monica.

I share this tale not to sow fear of stabbing crimes, but rather to underscore that Amy Adams is an instrument of God—just as I’ve always said!
