Cher Is Wearing a 2nd Diamond Ring, So…Do With That What You Will

After a nearly 50-year break from marrying men, Cher may have finally locked it down with her partner Anthony “AE” Edwards. The music icon has been dating 40-year-old Edwards, who shares a son with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, since 2022, and the nearly 40-year age gap has made the pair the subject of much tabloid speculation ever since. 

The marriage rumors began swirling Monday, when Cher arrived at the Hollywood Roosevelt for her son, Chaz Bono‘s wedding to his longtime partner, Shara Blue Mathes. While she’s been wearing a pear-shaped diamond since Edwards gifted it to her for Christmas 2022, this was the first time she’s been spotted sporting a second diamond band. She paired both with a star-patterned sweatsuit, because she’s Cher and she can do what she wants. 

In regard to the pear-shaped diamond, Cher told Access Hollywood at the time that the ring didn’t mean anything, but that he did tell her, “You’re the right girl, it’s the right ring, for the right finger,” upon giving it to her so…do with that what you will. 

Fast forward to December 2025, and rumors began to circulate that Cher and Edwards were planning to tie the knot for the singer’s 80th birthday in May—but she hit back via a spokesperson to say there are “absolutely no plans for a wedding in her future.” And yet, here we are, with Cher sporting two diamond rings on her left hand ring finger. So is she married? Or is she just wearing a symbolic ring on symbolic fingers without any of the assumed symbolism attached because—as we’ve already discussed—she’s Cher and can do what she wants? Only time (which cannot be turned back) will tell. 

As for those who might criticize her age gap relationship, Cher has a simple message. “Whatever,” she told CBS Mornings in November. “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.” No matter where her relationship with Edwards stands, I think it’s safe to say she won’t ever be citing “involuntary servitude” in her divorce papers ever again.
