Christian Siriano, for the Mysterious Parisian Grande Dame in You

Saturday, former Project Runway contestant Christian Siriano showed his fall 2014 collection, which was inspired by Parisian design in the ’50s and ’60s. In other words: chic wide-brimmed hats, nipped-in waists, checker prints and crocodile bags.

Siriano — now in his 12th season showing during NYFW — told the Wall Street Journal that Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, was his muse:

I wanted to have the vibe that it was her [Fonssagrives-Penn] and her approach to dressing… Very French, very ’50s and early ’60s, which was when she was prominent in fashion.
