One of the core themes of Dance Moms seems to be Abby Lee Miller’s total lack of knowledge regarding how to speak to and direct other people’s children. It’s almost like she is compulsively inappropriate, barking at them, ordering them to wear sexy costumes, and making the one black girl in the troupe repeatedly do “ethnic” dances. On last night’s episode, for a big competition in Florida, Abby flew in one of her young male dancers to perform with the girls, specifically to portray a love affair on stage with 13-year-old Brooke. Pissed that the kids had no “chemistry” when grinding against one another, Abby ordered their mothers to take them out on a date so they could make a love connection.
