Some lucky customers trying to buy Balenciaga bags on the brand’s website Thursday managed to get them for a fraction of the price they’re usually listed at, causing panicked excitement among fashionistas across the country, Page Six reports.
“Girls in one Manhattan office were ‘screaming when they nabbed a bag,’ said one who witnessed the fashionable frenzy,” the Post writes, noting that that bags were going for $200 to $400 instead of a couple thousand.
A few individuals confirmed the news on Twitter; one wrote that, “Products were showing up at big discount. I ordered something, got a confirmation email but then their site went down!” She then acknowledged that’s she’s unsure if the company will actually send her her purchase.
It seems likely that they won’t, if the words of at least one very angry woman are to be believed.
Balenciaga’s site is still nonfunctioning, and the company hasn’t released a statement (though on Twitter they’re pretty amped that Amal Clooney has been spotted around New York City in their wares). But for a brief, beautiful fashion moment, everything was Good.
