Richard Madden, a.k.a. dreamy King in the North Robb Stark, will follow in the cinematic footsteps of his TV father Sean Bean and appear in an upcoming adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover as Oliver Mellors. Can’t say he seems the gamekeeper type, but there’s certainly plenty of ladies who’d love to bone him in a forest.
Variety reports that BBC One just cast Madden in a 90-minute adaptation of the famously racy novel, scheduled to begin filming in October and air in 2015:
Holliday Grainger, who starred in Showtime’s “The Borgias” and A&E’s recent miniseries “Bonnie & Clyde,” will play the title role, with “Game of Thrones” star Richard Madden playing gamekeeper Oliver Mellors. James Norton, who appears in BBC One’s “Happy Valley,” will play Lady Chatterley’s war-wounded husband Sir Clifford Chatterley.
For the sake of stoking any simmering rivalries among former Game of Thrones cast members, here is a scene from the version starring Sean Bean. (Jump to 1:37.) Your boss probably would not consider it entirely safe for work.
