Happy First Wedding to Dua Lipa and Callum Turner!

Happy first wedding to Dua Lipa and Callum Turner! And no, I am not suggesting that the two will not be together forever; I’m rooting for this extraordinarily hot and fun couple. What I mean is: They celebrated their civil ceremony over the weekend at Marylebone Town Hall in London, ahead of their expected lavish wedding party later this week. The photos of the beaming pair coming down the steps in a hail of confetti look like they were planned to a fare-thee-well, but The Sun reported that it was actually a very small, straightforward ceremony.

According to the tabloid’s sources present at the town hall, “Callum wept with joy” when Dua walked down the aisle accompanied by her parents. Aw! (As a funny aside: Dua is a born and bred North London girlie, and her dad is a big Arsenal fan; the family was apparently joking about celebrating Arsenal’s Premier League win, as the victory parade took place at the same time a few miles away.)

Dua wore a custom Schiaparelli skirt suit in a shade that looks super-super light blue in pictures, but that various celebrity and fashion media outlets have reported as off-white. It was classic Schiaparelli, with mismatched gold buttons, an asymmetrical skirt, and a sculptural, ever-so-exaggerated hip. (Many X users complained about the hip pads, a smidge of which were visible under the blazer. I do not care either way, but then again, I was unaware of the existence of “hip pads” until 24 short hours ago.) She also wore a huge hat (very British) and gloves (classy). 

Calum wore an all navy suit with a similar vibe—and by that I mean the shoulders were exaggerated. To my untrained eye, it may have been a smidge too big, but I’d need the Menswear Expert to weigh in on this one in order to know for sure. Various reports have said the couple will have their larger wedding bash in Sicily sometime this summer, and The Sun is claiming that the celebrations are kicking off as early as Thursday. I wonder how much coordinating their wedding planner had to do with Taylor Swift’s; we still don’t know much about that other pop queen’s wedding plans, and I’m dying to know what the crossover guest list for these two events is going to be.
