Jessie J! You know, the one who opened Grease: Live only to disappear for the rest of the show. She sings that song “Price Tag.” You’ve heard of Jessie J.
In an interview with Women’s Health, Jessie J discussed her career, her level of popularity in the UK versus her level of popularity in the United States and what she hopes her legacy will be. Somewhere along this mostly innocuous path, she took a sharp turn into delusionville. Via The Sun:
“It makes me sad. I’ve done the Grammys, the VMAs . . . my profile in America is that I’m kind of celebrated as one of the greatest singers – and I love it.
“I want to be up there with the Celine Dions, Whitneys, Beyonces and Arethas.
“I go hard because I hope and pray that one day people look back and go, ‘She could really f***ing sing.’”
Did you feel that? When Jessie J actually said those words out loud, the entire world collectively stopped and in unison, peered down their sunglasses, shaking their heads and whispered: Oh, Jessie, girl, no. GIRL. NO.
On the plus side, she looks great on the cover.
