Jill Zarin Fired from ‘RHONY’ Reunion After Racist & Stupid Bad Bunny Halftime Rant

After Bad Bunny delivered a sublime 13-minute Super Bowl halftime show Sunday night themed “Together, We Are America,” former Real Housewife of New York City Jill Zarin used her free will to go on Instagram and complain that there were “literally no white people in the entire thing.”

“It was the worst halftime show ever, and it’s 250 years right now that we’re celebrating in the United States,” she said. “And I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.” She has since deleted the video, but not before getting fired from the upcoming RHONY reunion special, The Golden Life, for her stupid and racist take. 

She also said the “NFL sold out,” that she didn’t “need to see him grabbing his G-area,” and that “you got all these young kids watching…and he doesn’t have to be grabbing himself every five seconds.” She added she thought there being “literally no white people” was a political statement against ICE, even though she’s not “taking a side one way or the other.” (Another terrible take!)”This was 75 years, you know,” she concluded (I don’t know what she meant by 75 years?). “Shame, shame.”

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life. We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values,” the studio said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. The show is currently in production for E! and will also star Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Sonja Morgan.

Dorinda Medley, another former RHONY star, told the Reality Checked podcast on Monday that she disagrees “with absolutely everything” Zarin said. “The effect that it had on so many people, especially people that are frightened right now, that are faltered. He created hope, and I felt sentimental about that Super Bowl halftime,” Medley continued. “I think the world has said it already, but I do not agree with any of it.”

Morgan and De Lesseps also seemed to lightly shade Zarin’s take, though they didn’t call her out directly. “Celebrating with my chosen family Bad Bunny’s Grammy. While also reiterating that he’s the first Latino to win one and just showing my love for my Latin friends and supporters,” Morgan wrote on Instagram, while De Lesseps posted a photo of the halftime show with the caption, “Choose Love.” Nothing yet from Singer, who has her own history with being fired over making racist comments. Zarin also hasn’t responded to the news, though TMZ reports that she’s “stunned.” 

Would be great, though, if Blink49’s decision inspired SiriusXM to finally fucking fire Megyn Kelly. Or America to fire Trump. 

Oh, and Zarin also needlessly went after Lady Gaga, saying she didn’t recognize her and speculating that she got a facelift. “I literally had to Google her face to see who it was, because we all couldn’t agree,” she said. “So, that was kind of fun in the middle of halftime, at least it gave me something to do because it was so hard to watch.” I think it’s great if you want a facelift, I think it’s great if you don’t want a facelift, but…people in glass houses, Jill, come on.
