Miranda Lambert and Shania Twain—queens of country music, past and present—shared an embrace backstage at Twain’s “Rock This Country” tour. “Girls night, love seeing you!”, Twain captioned the Instagram photo. Though there’s enough country drama in the photo to fill an entire album (see our own Kate Dries’ excellent take on Lambert’s musical future), the pair exchanged admiration for one another via social media.
And certainly Twain is worthy of the admiration. Lambert shared a photo of the singer suspended over the audience in a mechanical saddle. “Shania Twain. Fringe Saddle. That’s All. #nashville #girlsnight #rockthiscountry #badass #musicismedicine,” wrote hashtag enthusiast Lambert.
