Entertainment

Transgender model Andreja Pejić has gotten her debut film role in the adaptation of David Lagercrantz’s The Girl In The Spider’s Web.

Deadline reports that Pejić is joining the cast, along with Claire Foy, who has been cast as Lisbeth Salander, previously portrayed respectively by Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara in the Swedish and American versions of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Her actual role has not yet been revealed, but she seems excited about it:

Pejić has a successful modeling career, in which she has modeled both men and women’s clothing. She came out as trans in 2014. She has appeared as the face of make up company Make Up For Ever, and was the first openly trans model profiled by Vogue. She also appeared in David Bowie’s music video for The Stars (Are Out Tonight). Pejić was just featured on the cover of Australian Vogue as one of “The Faces” of Australian fashion. Now, she will be one of the faces of Swedish hacker-thrillers.
