- Models discuss Sex And The City 2: Caroline Trentini, though “a bit of a Charlotte” herself, says the characters are “the four perfect personalities.” Damaris Lewis‘ favorite scene in the first movie was when Charlotte bashes Big over the head with the bouquet. That “proved to us that she was a force to be reckoned with.” Sessilee Lopez likes Samantha, for “her sexual appetite.” Alana Zimmer says the movies are nowhere near as good as the series. “That being said, I will obviously go and see the movie, and love it.” Nobody self-identifies as a Miranda. [Modelinia]

Meanwhile, at W, the August issue will be the first entirely overseen by new editor Stefano Tonchi. For its cover, he has chosen Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall, who co-star in a film. [WWD]
- Marlon Brando‘s estate is suing Joe’s Jeans over its marketing of a leather jacket the estate says exploits the late actor’s image. That the jacket is named “The Brando” could be coincidence, but Joe’s also apparently marketed it with the tagline “The Wild One,” which pretty much removes all doubt about the matter. [Contactmusic]

- It’s confirmed: Giles Deacon is the latest creative director of Ungaro. He will continue showing his eponymous line. Deacon says he plans to show his first collection for Ungaro at the next Paris fashion week, but not at a runway show. (He wants a presentation instead.) The troubled house has seen numerous designers (and C.E.O.’s) come and go during the six years since Emanuel Ungaro‘s retirement. Most recently, Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Archs held the reins; Deacon’s position on glitter heart pasties is unknown. [WWD]
- “Various things have happened at the house recently which for legal reasons the company can’t comment on – but I like to think of the bigger picture,” Deacon tells U.K. Vogue. “The house and its legacy have a lot more to them than that – and there will be announcements over the coming weeks about the business. I can’t talk about them yet but various changes are being put in place.” He also says “Katie Grand will be joining us,” referring to the stylist/editor of LOVE, but declined to say in what role. - “I’m as tortured as ever, I see my shrink once a week, have all the same mood swings, I can sit there the night before a show and think, ‘What if they hate it? What if my life is over and I am homeless?’ I can catastrophise with the best of them. I have sat over on that couch with John Currin and he’ll say, ‘What are you doing?’ and I’ll say, ‘I have no idea’, and then he’ll talk about a smile he’s repainted 16 times. But I also have a certain amount of self-awareness at this point, and I recognise all those neuroses are just human. It’s why I think now I am attracted to yellow. It’s positive; it’s the optimistic choice.” — Marc Jacobs, still neurotic after all these years. [FT]

- “Why was she speaking here? Was she here to be a motivator? Was she here to further her political agenda? The correlation between the industry and her is a tough one.” Sure sounds like Sarah Palin‘s keynote address to the International Council of Shopping Centers conference, in which she discussed the importance of drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, went over a treat. (Was calling her a “tea-party pinup” really necessary, though, Women’s Wear Daily?) [WWD]
