New Collabo Alert: Lorde, Pharrell, One Direction, an Actual Tiger

You know what they say about too much personality in one room? Not since “We Are the World 2010” have this many awesomely random people been in one spot, covering the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows” in a psychedelic-baroque theater. But for whom does one Harry Styles remove his bandanna? No one, not even for a 482-pound (est.) tiger, nor Brian Wilson.

Filmed especially to relaunch BBC Music, which will is a new “initiative” that will introduce many new “programmes,” but also was an excuse to make a film-quality video of a million huge-name artists collaboing on a cover in a fantastical environment, because obviously Lorde (flossing angel wings; finally revealing her true identity) and One Direction (in proper tailcoats) in the same room is a wonderful, beautiful fantasy, and also Stevie Wonder, on harmonica, can see.

The aforementioned are joined by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Emeli Sandé, Florence Welch, Pharrell, Chris Martin, Sam Smith, your mans Sir Elton John, and Chrissie Hynde, among many others. Also, the BBC thinks that Dave Grohl is the “God” in question, apparently:

“God Only Knows (Everybody Remix)” is a follow-up for a similar stunt the BBC pulled with Lou Reed in 1997, and proceeds for this single will benefit their charity, Children in Need.
