Nicole Farhi's Collection Inspires The Sin Of Covetousness

Latest

When I got my first AOL account at 14, I considered “GreenEyedMonster.” That was because of my eye color, but looking at the Nicole Farhi Autumn/Winter in London, I wish I had it: the clawing envy would be apt.

Although she’s London-based (and an honorary CBE), Farhi’s aesthetic is quintessentially French. Regardez: a Coco-ish marin’s shirt!

In the world in which designers for some reason let me pick a collection to own (in this world I can also pull off anything and have a social life that calls for a lot of outfits, and not just for dancing around in front of the mirror), this line would be duking it out with Oscar de la Renta’s!

Apparently, I’d also be five inches taller.

Elegant and cool are always this designer’s bywords.

As has been a trend on the runways, “Pretty” was invited too.

Oh yeah, I’m just going to toss this on and walk my pack of beautifully-behaved rescue dogs. Because in this life I have an apartment big enough for them.

Then I’m having a croque monsieur with Joan Didion.

While we’re at it, Barbara Pym is alive and she comes too. Oh, did I mention I can fly? And I have a lot of free time for this, because my husband, who is sometimes Stephen Pastel and sometimes Reuven Malter from The Chosen, is out of town.

Okay, maybe not this – but in the fantasy world I could pull it off if I wanted!

The woman, the legend, the curls.

In case that wasn’t enough awesome, the show was held at London’s Royal Opera House.
