Perhaps you’ve rightfully been too distracted by Beyoncé owning the VMAs and emblazoning MTV with the word “FEMINIST” to catch it (I know I was), but Bey isn’t the only one swinging the hammer at the patriarchy in recent days. Over on HBO, John Oliver is taking on the wage gap and the varying bullshit arguments used to justify it.
Sadly, unlike Beyoncé, Oliver does not dress in a bejeweled leotard while making his point. He does, however, come up with the idea for “Ladybucks” — which are just like regular money, only worth less and in fun colors — so all is forgiven.
