Rick Owens and Versace Design My Little Pony Dolls for Charity

Entertainment

In an interesting collaboration that will thrill the small center of a Venn diagram charting Bronies and fashion enthusiasts, several big name designers—including Rick Owens, Versace, and Balmain—have made custom My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic plush toys that they’re auctioning off for charity.

Olivier Rousteing has put his in its very own Balmain ensemble, with a leather harness and some chic mesh palazzo pants,” reports Helena Horton at Dazed. Karl Lagerfeld has covered his in thick Fendi fur, and Donatella Versace has taken her cues from Versace’s AW15 collection, an ode to the emoji generation. Rick Owens’ creation is, unsurprisingly, painted completely black.”

The toys are being auctioned off by Italian retailer LuisaViaRoma on eBay. Here’s the (rough) translation of LuisaViaRoma’s mission statement:

For the 11th edition of Firenze4Ever, important fashion designers transform My Little Ponies into works of art. All proceeds will go to Save the Children to sustain their operations helping and assisting child victims of the earthquake that recently hit Nepal.

The dolls start at 351 euros, which might sound expensive, but think of how cool you’ll look with your decked-out Rainbow Dash. That shit is priceless.
