As we tick down the final gasping seconds of 2018, it’s only natural to ask, “What fresh horrors will the year of our Lord 2019 bring, and how can we possibly we face them without a new ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’?” But in anticipation of those anxieties, Rihanna has gifted us the promise of an album.
According to Page Six, in the comments of an Instagram post promoting a new shade of Fenty Mattemoiselle lipstick Rihanna assured fans that new music is on its way:
“But when is the new album dropping Robyn?” an Instagram user asked on a promotional photo for a new shade of lipstick from Rihanna’s Fenty beauty line. “Can we have a release date for that?”
“2019,” the singer responded.
It’s been nearly three years since ANTI was released but feels like much, much longer. The album’s working title is R9. The new shade is Flamingo Acid. I am ready for all of it.
