I wasn’t the biggest fan of Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel Gone Girl, but I did love [SPOILER] [SPOILER] [DON’T LEAVE OUTRAGED COMMENTS SAYING I DIDN’T WARN YOU ABOUT A SPOILER] psychotic “Cool Girl” Amy, and now we know who’ll play the coveted role in David Fincher’s upcoming movie: British actress Rosamund Pike.

Rosamund Pike has been offered and is expected to accept the starring role opposite Ben Affleck in the 20th Century Fox mystery thriller Gone Girl, which is being co-financed 50-50 with New Regency, sources said. Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry are being eyed for supporting roles.

Every thirtysomething actress probably wants to murder Pike — the psychological thriller is almost certainly going to be a blockbuster — but at least it’ll help her get into character?
