The Hugely Popular Fancy Nancy Is Coming to Kids' TV
LatestA little warning if you’ve got pint-sized humans in your life: “Fancy Nancy” will soon be absolutely inescapable, if the folks at Disney have anything to say about it.
Variety reports that the Disney Junior channel has just acquired the rights to the very, very popular children’s book series. (Description via Amazon: “Meet Nancy, who believes that more is ALWAYS better when it comes to being fancy. From the top of her tiara down to her sparkly studded shoes, Nancy is determined to teach her family a thing or two about being fancy.”) They’re plotting “an animated telepic and series adaptation,” due 2017, and of course an absolutely shitload of merch.
Said Disney Junior head Nancy Kanter: “We are very eager to give her an even bigger stage on which to perform.” YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE. But at least it’s something other than Frozen, right?
