The Kids' Choice Awards Red Carpet Is the Most Fun Red Carpet of the Year

BeautyStyle

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards — which held its 26th annual event yesterday in Los Angeles — has got to be the most enjoyable awards show ever. From the bright, youthful clothes to the slime, celebrities actually look like they’re having fun. Kristen Stewart smiles. It’s that awesome. You cannot look at these pictures without cracking a grin.

This is one of those award shows where you can basically wear whatever. Gold sandals on Angela Bassett and tights on Bronwyn Vance; polka dots on Madeleine Rose Yen; neon green party/pageant dress on Ryan Newman. It’s all good.

Even the guys get creative with their wardrobe: Matt Bennett wears a crown and a tiger shoulder brooch; Ryan Potter wears a bow tie; Neil Patrick Harris wears a giant smile.

Nick Cannon sports Nickelodeon orange.

This award show is definitely a family affair: Boo Boo and Fivel Stewart, Iris, Judd and Maude Apatow; and Jezebel’s sworn enemy Scott Baio with his kin.

The Roker family!

Dog the Bounty Hunter and family!

Puppy!

(Also, Gabby Senn, Malika Samuels, Noah Grossman and Troy Doherty.)

Modern Family‘s Rico Rodriguez and sister Raini Rodriguez.

Alright, let’s get to some fashion. Hemlines? Short. Examples: Tanya Chisholm, Fatima Ptacek, Sammi Hanratty.

Oana Gregory, covered in studs.

Gabby Douglas and Ariana Grande are up on the colorblocking.

Casual cool: Jaden and Willow Smith.

Don’t they look like twins?

Pastel shades for Lucas Cruikshank. Cody Simpson dresses like a Rebel Without a Clue.

Black, but not boring: Elizabeth Gillies, Erin Sanders.

Black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow: Kristen Wigg.

In black with accents of white: Kylie Jenner. Don’t care for the shoes, but the hair is A+.

In (weird, wtf) white: Gracie Dzienny.

Crisp, pretty white dress on Lucy Hale. Lipsick matches clutch!

Khloe Kardashian looks amazing in figure-hugging white and that whopper of a ring.

Floral and graphic patterns made a big splash at this event. Miranda Cosgrove‘s version? Muted, ruffled, partly sheer.

Kiernan Shipka, in a more traditional, streamlined floral.

Bright flowers on a black background for adorbs Rachel Crow.

Punchy, stretchy bright pattern: Fergie.

Moving into the more graphic elements, Katy Perry dresses in a snug two-piece deal.

Also in a boldly graphic two piece? Peyton List

More graphic: Willow Shields and Halston Sage.

Stripey blues: A great dress on Hunger GamesAmandla Stenberg
(pls. note eyeball barette!) and a groovy shirt on Disney star Caroline Sunshine.

Baby blue, and channelling Bootsy Collins: Ke$ha.

Aqua blue: Danica Patrick.

Vivid hot pink: Jaylen Barron

Kicky yellow: Ciara Bravo

Electric neon brights: Keltie Colleen, Stefanie Scott .

A cheerful and super bright print for Victoria Justice.

Cut outs on Jenette McCurdy and Debby Ryan.

A few metallics… Golden copper sets off Karina Smirnoff‘s tanned legs.

Silver acts as a neutral for Bella Thorne‘s neon accessories.

Ashley Tisdale‘s dress has a reptilian vibe; a copper bag and silver shoes complete the ensemble.

Dress and hair are meh, but Jessica Alba‘s green eyeliner is fun.

It’s a five-way tie for best dressed. Starting with Sophia Grace and Rosie!!!

Love love love the springy fresh whisper-light outfit Selena Gomez is working. Cute shorts, hot heels, pretty bustier-type top.

Gorgeous.

OBSESSED with the glasses, full skirt and jeweled collar Zendaya Coleman rocks. Tiny fraction of a point off for the shoes, but everything else is so amazing, it’s just a minor quibble.

Another lady making formal shorts look beautiful? Kristen Stewart. Easy, comfy, flawless, cool.

And this might be the best hair she’s ever had.
