The Latest Trailer for The Get Down Is Electrifying

You’ll have to wait until August 12 to see Baz Luhrmann’s ‘70s hip-hop drama The Get Down, but in the meantime, this dazzling trailer will whet your appetite.

As Screen Crush reports, the series will run on Netflix, with at least the first six episodes available August 12. The cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Skylan Brooks, Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito, Herizen Guardiola, Jaden Smith, and Tremaine Brown Jr.

Told through the lives and music of the South Bronx kids, ‘The Get Down’ is a mythic saga of how New York at the brink of bankruptcy gave birth to hip-hop, punk, and disco.
