Sure, this giant Kermit is cool-looking (the Muppet takes Manhattan!), but many of the balloons looming about New York City yesterday were scary as shit. Let’s take a look at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day horror-show.

Here’s an enormous leering Spongebob, come to kill us all.

The Pikachu balloon seemed like an adorable throwback to 1993, until his big dewy eyes began to shoot lasers.

Hello Kitty calmly regards the carnage.

Tim Burton’s “B. Boy” balloon is actually supposed to be creepy, but it’s one of the least upsetting.
