The Olympic torch has been lit, and the 2026 Milan Cortina opening ceremonies have concluded. We saw giant bobble heads of famous Italian composers, colorful dancing espresso pots, a hot twirling Cupid, Mariah Carey, and Charlize Theron. Also featured in her very own Gisele-at-the-2016-Rio-Olympics moment was Vittoria Cerreti, Leonardo DiCaprio’s 27-year-old girlfriend.

Since Italy is home to such legendary designers as Giorgio Armani, Miuccia Prada, and Gianni and Donatella Versace, part of the opening ceremony was dedicated to Milan being one of the fashion capitals of the world. Dozens of models strutted across the stage in impeccable red, white, and green Armani suits, before revealing the Main Model, who wore a custom Armani Privé dress, not a suit, and carried the Italian flag.

The Main Model was, you guessed it, Ceretti, who might be best known to some in the U.S. as DiCaprio’s first girlfriend allowed to age past 25. Ceretti was first linked with DiCaprio in August 2023, when she was 24; she’s previously said they first met in Milan.

Ceretti, who was born and raised 90 minutes outside Milan, is also an accomplished, well, model, having walked for Dior, Celine, and Louis Vuitton, and been the face of campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Bulgari, Givency, Fendi, and Prada. She appeared on the cover of American Vogue for the first time in 2017, when she was 18, and has since appeared on the cover of 24 international versions of Vogue. She was also very close to Karl Lagerfeld, the late and problematic Chanel designer, who was fatphobic, questioned #MeToo survivors’ claims, and derided immigrants and gay marriage.

But anyway. After her moment as the Main Model, Ceretti handed off the Italian flag to the Italian Carabinieri’s honour guard, the Corazzieri. Ottimo lavoro!
