Watch the Trailer For Haute Couture-Filled Documentary Dior and I

Dior and I, which premiered to much critical acclaim at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, seems likely—from the looks of this trailer—to join the ranks of iconic contemporary fashion films like Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s and The September Issue.

Dior and I, directed by Frédéric Tcheng, follows the frenzied labor of Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection for Christian Dior (and his first haute couture collection, period) in 2012—which he only had eight weeks to create, following the abrupt exit of former Dior artistic director John Galliano. The film’s press release states:

‘Dior and I’ brings the viewer inside the storied world of the Christian Dior fashion house with a privileged, behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection as its new artistic director—a true labor of love created by a dedicated group of collaborators. Melding the everyday, pressure- filled components of fashion with mysterious echoes from the iconic brand’s past, the film is also a colorful homage to the seamstresses who serve Simons’ vision.

So, if Project Runway took place in Paris and was higher-stakes, beautifully shot, starred only one (infinitely more talented) contestant, everyone was glamorous, and Michael Kors was nowhere to be found. I can’t wait.

Dior and I premieres in the U.S. on April 10.
