We Can Now Listen to Trump Discuss Payments to Silence Former Playboy Model Karen McDougal
PoliticsLast night, Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen released the audio of a conversation in which they discuss payments meant to further squash Playboy model Karen McDougal’s story of an affair with our current president. Great!
The recording, which was provided to CNN by Cohen’s attorney Lanny Davis, was made in September 2016, two months before the election. While the audio is murky at times, it appears to confirm that Trump knew of plans to pay $150,000 to American Media Inc., the publisher of the National Enquirer, for the rights to McDougal’s story. AMI, as you might recall, bought the exclusive rights to print McDougal’s claims about their affair and then subsequently killed the story.
