We Should All Take a Page Out of Kesha’s Book and Make Placenta Jewelry
According to Kesha, wearing your placenta around your neck can help open your third eye.

Have you been feeling unaligned lately? Your second sight gone blurry? Your third eye closed where it should be open? According to Kesha, you may need to reconnect with your spiritual lifeline, aka the flesh bag that brought you into this world, aka the placenta. And trust her, she’s Kesha.
On an episode of Call Her Daddy released Thursday, Kesha told host Alex Cooper that she carries the placenta from her own birth with her everywhere she goes in the form of a necklace. Well, if we’re not supposed to eat the placenta after birth, making jewelry out of it seems like the next best option, right? The topic came up when Cooper asked about Kesha’s jewelry, and Kesha replied, “That’s my placenta,” and then, “Oh, no. I lost my placenta on your couch.” (Don’t worry, she found it.)
“So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye,” Kesha explained. Her source? “This is according to my mother.” I believe her.
If you’re inspired to try making your own placenta jewelry at home, she even shared the process: apparently her mom “put [the placenta] in the oven, wrapped it up in a box, stuck it in the basement.” About 20 years later, Kesha and her mom found the box, and “threw it in the blender, popped it in a necklace. Work!” Simple enough. All you need is about 20 years of placenta dehydration, and you’re halfway to seeing the future and opening your third eye.
“She had to fight for my placenta,” Kesha added. “They tried to take my placenta away from her at the hospital and she fucking threw a conniption fit. She fought for that, so now I carry it around.” Damn, and all I got was a blankie.
Kesha also discussed her love for collecting teeth, and she confirmed that she still receives teeth in the mail from her fans that she turns into crowns, headdresses, and belts. And if you’re still not impressed with the placenta necklace or the tooth belt, there are other options…Cardi B recently made a postpartum keepsake after delivering her fourth baby by sculpting her umbilical cord into a heart pendant and casting it in gold. Also, breast milk jewelry is a thing?

The point is, there is ample potential for celebratory natal jewelry, and we are not seizing the opportunity. So, if you do have a placenta lying around, go throw it in the blender and make some bling.
