On Tuesday, Angelenos will head to the polls to choose their mayoral candidates, and one candidate, Spencer Pratt, is making waves by taking a page from the Trump playbook. That is, by being a former reality TV star and blaming woes, including the Palisades wildfires, on the Democrats, i.e., incumbent LA Mayor Karen Bass and LA Councilwoman Nithya Raman, who are also both running in the mayoral primary. Pratt, aka the douche from The Hills, was offhandedly endorsed by Trump two weeks ago, but what do the rest of our LA-resident celebrities think of the former tabloid fodder running Los Angeles?
Ahead of Tuesday’s primary, Interview Magazine ran a story with Pratt for their summer issue, titled “Spencer Pratt Takes Us Around the City He Thinks He Can Save.” Neither the piece by Ben Barna nor the photographs by Jamie Lee Taete are flattering of the mayoral candidate, capturing him stiff and staged under harsh sunlight. Still, the celebs of LA had thoughts about the magazine participating, albeit with a wink, in Pratt’s campaign days before the primary, and they made sure to share those thoughts in the comments of Interview’s and Editor-in-Chief Mel Ottenberg’s post. The Commenters
“Delete this” – Tinashe
“WHY are you platforming a grifter who is taking mostly out of state money, and using AI Angelenos in his ads because no locals want to be in them!? He’s pitching a reality show about this for gods sake, he wants to profit off of office, and not serve a damn soul but himself. Shame.” -Sophia Bush
“It’s a no from me 🚮” -Ella Emhoff (aka Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter and fiber artist/model)
“Immediately no”-Pavarti of Survivor
“This is for INTERVIEW???”- Andy Cohen
“I feel like we could have brainstormed a handful of more suitable concepts here.” -Aquaria

More Opponents
Hannah Einbeinder
“There’s a lot of wealth in this city, and I think that there are a lot of people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really, money is their key issue, and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt—who is endorsed by Donald Trump,” Einbeinder told Variety.
Drew Carey
“I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” Carey wrote on Threads.
Lisa Rinna
When asked by Variety who should be the next mayor, Rinna responded, “I don’t know yet. Not a reality star, though. I’m sorry,” and added in very Lisa Rinna fashion, “I’m a reality person. You wouldn’t want me as mayor.”
Chelsea Handler
“This is a reminder that a straight, white male, former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate,” Handler said in an Instagram video.
Supporters
His Costars
Kristin Callavari, Brody Jenner, and Audrina Patridge have all publicly supported their former costar.
Paris Hilton
“Spencer for Mayor,” Hilton commented on one of Pratt’s posts of the aforementioned Airstream.
Katherine McPhee
McPhee hosted a fundraising dinner for Pratt at her and husband David Foster’s home, which isn’t surprising, since McPhee and her husband have donated to various Republican causes in the past.
Dennis Quaid
Quaid endorsed Pratt in a Fox News interview last week.
Joe Rogan
“Listen, man. I’m voting for you. I can’t vote for you, but I’m rooting for you.” Rogan told Pratt on his podcast.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx (allegedly)
Last week, Pratt told Us Weekly that DiCaprio and Foxx privately endorsed his candidacy at a party, and that he has “multiple eyewitnesses” that can confirm it. Hm…
Regardless of whether you believe DiCaprio and Foxx actually endorsed him, Pratt’s own sister, Stephanie Pratt, said a vote for him is a “vote for stupidity,” which is pretty telling. So get voting, Angelenos—hopefully for someone qualified!
