Y/N: Lana Del Rey Sounds As Numb As Ever On New Honeymoon Track

Y: Lana Del Rey’s latest Honeymoon track, “Music to Watch Boys To,” with its forlorn flutes, echoes and generally masochistic vibe (surprise), is a super ominous jam about watching the dude in her life drift away. “I like you a lot/ So I’ll do what you want” is so simply relevant. [Billboard]

Y: Tinashe alternates between a breathy, almost Twigs-like purr and a cocky rasp on “Party Favors,” another laid back bar jam along the lines of “2 On.” Not quite a straight smash, but I’m bumping it. [Idolator]

Y: T.I. pretty much goes with the grain here, croaking out his lyrics to “Check Run It” over that familiar shiny clang that defines turn-up anthems. It works just fine. [Rap-Up]

Y: Having listened to Phantogram’s “Fall in Love” on repeat on occasion, I aggressively approve of this Big Boi collaboration as Big Grams. “Fell in the Sun” is something funky and sensual to which I can bounce or body roll. [Fader]

Y: Rhythmically, Raury’s “Friends” (featuring Tom Morello) has a kitschy California surf, freeway vibe that makes it a chill listen. [Nah Right]

N: On “Same Old Love,” Selena Gomez sings “I’m so sick of that same old love” and “I’ve heard it all before at least a million times,” which accurately describes my feeling upon hearing this song. Nothing special.[Billboard]

Y: Kehlani and Charlie Puth successfully turned Drake’s skittering late-night lament “Hotline Bling” into a stripped down ballad. [Fader]
