A love story for the ages may be upon us. (Either that, or two hot people just got drinks.) Picture this: two celebrities, both alike in virality, in the fair West Village where we lay our scene. Over the weekend, dating discourse inducers Emily Ratajkowski and Austin Butler were spotted grabbing drinks at the Waverly Inn, a sexy little spot known for its high-end comfort food (read: too expensive), craft cocktails (also too expensive), and dim lighting (priceless). In a shot obtained by TMZ, the couple looked cozy in a booth as they stared into each other’s perfectly symmetrical faces.
The public drinks date was quickly reported to Deumoix, who posted that the two were observed being “very giggly and cute,” though, according to TMZ, they “didn’t show any PDA.” Maybe because they knew their actions would be reported to the most clicked-on celebrity gossip sites imaginable within the hour? Just spitballing here.
This all comes after EmRata attended the after-party for Butler’s new film Caught Stealing, where a photo of the two talking ended up in a sexy candid slideshow posted by nightlife photographer Matt Weinberger. At the time, no one took notice of the snap as it was buried in slide 6 of Weinberger’s photo dump, but it quickly resurfaced now that the romance rumors have started brewing.
EmRata was married to Sebastian Bear-McClard—with whom she shares a son—from 2018 until she filed for divorce in September 2022.
