4Chan User Threatens to Post Emma Watson Nudes For Being a Feminist

UGHHHHHHH. Emma Watson is being targeted as the next celeb to have nude photos of her stolen because someone is mad she addressed the United Nations about feminism.

On Saturday, Watson delivered a powerful speech at the United Nations headquarters about gender equality. While a majority of the response has been a resounding global high five, for some it was yet another excuse to find a way to bully a woman who has an opinion (THE NERVE OF YOU, HERMIONE. STICK TO HORCRUXES AND WHATNOT). Targeting a woman with threats of exposing her body to strangers without her consent because she said something you don’t agree with? Classy move. I don’t even know where to begin with how vile that is. According to Business Insider, it’s probably just a terrible hoax. However, the manboy meltdown resulted in the creation of a truly hideous threat and equally shitty website:

“Emma You Are Next” features a photograph of Emma Watson wiping away a tear, as well as a countdown timer, the 4chan logo, and a message that reads “Never forget, the biggest to come thus far.”
It is never explicitly stated what the site is counting down to, but it follows a wave of new leaked photographs posted on 4chan of Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, and other stars who were included on the original list of celebrities affected by the iCloud hack.

Death and Taxes agreed that while this may be a stupid, utterly obnoxious hoax, it’s still completely fucking disgusting. Behold the just some of the shit statements they dragged up from 4chan’s /b/ board (IF YOU DARE):

“she makes stupid feminist speeches at UN, and now her nudes will be online, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH”

“Those aren’t even the bad ones,” Robyn Pennacchia wrote in her post. ” There are others that actually get violent, which I will not be posting. I’m also not linking to the board, as it contains really disturbing images.”

Again, this is all because Watson dared to say this in public: “Feminism, by definition, is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.”

First of all, only a truly clueless shitstain would try to sell the notion that having nude photographs of your own body invalidates your right to speak out about anything ever again. Good to know people who hate women for simply asking world leaders to acknowledge and protect basic human rights are willing to stoop to such ridiculous bullshit. Sad to say, but at this point literally nothing surprises me when it comes to these tactics. To paraphrase a familiar sentiment, the disturbing reactions to women who proclaim their feminism are exactly why we still need feminism.
