Adele performing at the Super Bowl 2017 halftime show would be an incredible boon for viewers, especially after rival fans toss aside their Bud Lights to tearfully embrace one another. But alas, it ain’t happening. As she told the audience at her L.A. concert on Saturday:
“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” she said. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
Hope for an Adele halftime show was stirred last week after the Sun reported that “American football bosses” were “desperately trying to land” her for the event. I don’t know who exactly these “American football bosses” are, but suffice to say Adele was apparently not impressed.
I guess we’ll just have to settle for Bruno Mars again, now and forever.
