On an episode of The Ellen Show set to air Friday, Melissa McCarthy said that after the back and forth about who exactly fucked up the negotiations with regards to her being a part of the Gilmore Girls reunion series on Netflix, Sookie will indeed be returning to Stars Hollow.
After saying that she’s been asked about the revival “so so many times,” McCarthy then revealed that her team had finally worked out her schedule with the schedule of the taping of the show.
We could not get those schedules to work and there was a whole thing and then I was going to be out of the country and blah blah blah and literally about an hour and a half ago we figured out that I’m going go back and do it. And I am so excited, and they’re gonna be amazing. Amy Sherman-Palladino’s gonna squeeze me in to do it and I’m very happy to go back to Stars Hollow.
