Beyoncé and Jay-Z Just Dropped the Rumored Collaborative Album
Entertainment
Jay-Z alluded to a collaboration last November when he told the New York Times that he and Beyoncé were “using our art almost like a therapy session.” And it’s true! Meet the Carters, with their surprise album Everything Is Love, which you can stream on Tidal. They’ve unleashed the first video for “APESHIT,” above.
And fuck yeah you have to subscribe. Together they take on the music industry with lyrics like Jay’s “Tell the Grammys fuck that 0 for 8 shit,” a reference to eight nominations but zero wins for 4:44. Beyoncé comes in on “NICE” with: “If I gave two fucks – two fucks about streaming numbers/ Would have put Lemonade up on Spotify / Fuck you, fuck you.”
Jay-Z confirms that he said no to the Halftime Show in “APESHIT”:
“I said no to the Super Bowl / You need me, I don’t need you/ Every night we in the end zone / Tell the NFL we need stadiums too.”
And yes, the backdrop for that video is the Louvre.
