However, when Bush joined Today, he did not disclose the tape’s existence. His failure to do so might mean a violation of the “morality clause” in his contract. According to an insider:
“Billy was bragging about the tape to other NBC staff while in Rio. If he knew about the tape, and remembered the full extent of such an explosive conversation with a presidential candidate and didn’t disclose that to NBC News, that is a very, very serious problem.”
But another insider suggests that Bush might not have recalled the lewdness of the conversation (hmm) or that he concealed the footage to protect himself. If it was the latter, it seems his ego usurped his caution.
In the meantime, Bush is suspended pending a full review. He might also be investigated for workplace sexual harassment in light of the comments made about his former Access Hollywood cohost Nancy O’Dell.
Says an NBC insider, “There is concern that Bush didn’t defend his female coworker. Instead, he appears to encourage that type of talk about her.” The tape also captures Bush’s gentlemanly remark that Days of Our Lives actress Arianne Zucker is “hot as shit…All I can see is legs.”
Gosh, I’m somehow struggling to feel any sympathy whatsoever for this sexist twit.
