At the April 2 GLAAD Media Awards, Transparent creator and executive producer Jill Soloway announced the most recent addition to the show’s cast: Caitlyn Jenner.
According to Deadline, Jenner begins “filming scenes next week” though there’s no news regarding the character she’ll portray.
Soloway, whose show won Outstanding Comedy Series at the GLAAD Awards, revealed the casting news in an interview with the Associated Press. “We are all part of the same community,” she explained. “A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in [Jenner’s] show I Am Cait…Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”
